Part 3 - The tool runs on the DOS
Pros: Runs most system utilities available on DOS HBCD in the background. Therefore we restore, repair, modify the system better, safe, fast and convenient.
Cons: The screen DOS mode command to make the user feel used, especially novice computer users.
A. Active @ Password Changer (APC)
When logging into Windows that you do not remember your password, you can use the APC to clear the current password and log into Windows without a password.
Step 1: In the window of HBCD, we branch Password & Reg on Tools and select the field "Active Pass Chang XP *" (Figure 1)
Figure 1 - Select the "Active Pass Chang XP" from the Tools branch Password & Reg
Step 2: A new window appears asking for the copyright, we select Yes to start the running program (Figure 2). Figure 2 - Click on "Yes" to start the program
Step 3: At the first option, we let the APC automatically search by clicking the second option: Press 2 on the keyboard (Figure 3). Figure 3 - Selecting the search mode
Step 4: After a few seconds, the program automatically finds SAM (default is C: \ Windows \ System32 \ Config \ SAM). We just press Enter to proceed to the next step (Figure 4). Figure 4 - Press Enter to continue
Step 5: In the database that will be around 4 default accounts: Administrator, Guest, HelpAssistant, Support_. We make the turn from 0 to 4 if necessary (Figure 5). Figure 5 - Select the account to clear password
Step 6: To clear the password for the Administrator account, then we only need to press the letter Y is. APC will tell us then press any button to complete. Finally we press Esc button (top left of the keyboard) continuously from the program until the reboot is that we will get into Windows directly, without having to enter the password again (Figure 6 ). Figure 6 - Press the Y button to record
Two. Symantec Ghost 11.5.1 When it comes to HBCD, users often only used Ghost. Ghost allows the entire package that we install including OS and software into an image file. When we want to restore the previous situation we only need to extract the image files will have the entire operating system and software installed without having to take time to reinstall: Medium only 5 minutes to Ghost compared with 120 minutes of installing the OS and software.
Step 1: Start from HBCD and then select the 2nd line from top to bottom: "Dos BootCD" (Figure 7).
Figure 7 - Menu start of HBCD
Step 2: From the menu we choose HBCD 2nd line "Backup Tools" and then Enter (Figure 8). Figure 8 - Select to the "Backup Tools"
Step 3: Use the arrow button on your keyboard to move to the "Ghost" Enter to select. Normal mode we choose Ghost (Normal) (Figure 9).Figure 9 - Select Ghost (Normal)
Step 4: Once the first run, you click the OK button to go to the Ghost. If they wish to extract the entire operating system and software for the image file (Local> Partition> To Image: Figure 10), first we select the source drive (Source drive) by selecting it in the drive (usually drive first written above: Figure 11). Figure 10 - Create image file
Figure 11 - Choose the source drive
Step 5: Next we select the partition that we want to create an image: Usually the first partition (Figure 12). Figure 12 - Select the partition
Step 6: The software will continue to ask us where to save the file. Gho. You have chosen to partition with the first partition (drive D or E ... can not record to the C drive) then name the file will be saved and click on the Save button to start the production (Figure 13 ). Figure 13 - Name the file. Gho
Step 7: In this step there are 3 levels of image compression selected is No (uncompressed), Fast (compressed), High (highest compression) (Fig. 14). Depending on the partition containing the file size. Gho (D or E drive ...) that you select different compression levels. Of course, the higher the risk the greater inflates. After selecting compression mode we click Yes to start Ghost. Finally, the Ghost will show 100% complete success message. We reboot and see the file. Gho created in drive D (or E ...). Figure 14 - Select compression mode
Thus the image creation process has completed. In case you want to take that image file to use in step 4, then we choose to reverse the selection below (Local> Partition> From Image) then follow the same steps above. Note: Restore with Ghost files are easy to be confused with other partitions. So if not "strong hand", before Ghost we should copy important data to the USB or DVD. You can also back up to the tip is to copy all important data to your hard drive D and E.
With hundreds of selected tools and HBCD are integrated within the framework of this article the author can not present the most to you. With only two tools typically run on DOS or are your favorite authors introduced above, the author wants you to explore more of the same movements. Wish you success.
